Things to consider before buying the Blu Vivo XL2 Smartphone
1. Looks good, built well
Blu Vivo XL2’s front looks pretty much similar to every other device out there right now with small bezels and hardware keys. But, the hardware keys blend well with the color of the device and don’t shift the focus away from the screen. Hybrid SIM/microSD card slot was placed on the left side of the device. Unlike Apple and Motorola, Blu has included a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the Vivo XL2 smartphone.
At 175 g, it isn’t quite heavy on hands but the ergo dynamic design makes it quite easier to hold the device. Overall, it’s a well-built device in this budget category.
2. Large Display
Blu Vivo XL2 comes with a 5.5″ 720p (HD) display which is a norm these days in budget smartphones. Additionally, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Featuring a pixel density of 267ppi, Blu Vivo XL2 is not top-notch when comparing with other recently launched budget smartphones. In Indoors, display is fine, but once you step out into a bright sunny day, display seems to get reflective.
Overall, the low resolution of the display helps keep battery life reasonable and if you’re viewing videos and pictures in the internet, the display is quite fine.
3. Good Camera:
When coming to optics, The Blu Vivo XL2 has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. Features like phase detection autofocus, HDR mode helps shoot decent image in daylight. Under low-light situations, images seem to be under exposed and grainy. For social media shots, this should be fine but you can’t expect a stellar camera in this budget device.
Overall, Blu Vivo XL2’s camera is fine for social media images and it fairs well with other phones in this price range.
Android Nougat has been here for quite some time now, but Blu has chosen customized Android Marshmallow for Blu Vivo XL2. While most of the stock Android apps remains the same, there are some heavy changes in places like the lockscreen. Blu has made some ton of quick toggles on the left side of the lockscreen which is useful in day-to-day use.
Overall, it would be great if the device comes preloaded with Android Nougat, but Blu has choosen to Customized version of Android Marshmallow and even core features like quick toggles are different from normal stock android.
5. Hybrid SIM slot
The Blu Vivo XL2 uses a hybrid SIM slot which means it accepts one Micro-SIM and another Nano-SIM or microSD card for storage. Unfortunately, this means that users will have to choose between a second SIM and a microSD card which is quite annoying for some users.
Overall, Blu Vivo XL2 is a good device for its price. Blu has done a lot right here like a solid body and small bezels which looks similar to much more expensive phones. Budget phones are getting better and better every day and Blu Vivo XL2 is another excellent example of that.
It offers a large display, good battery life and a good camera that is good enough for your everyday Facebook and Instagram pictures. This is great phone considering the price point.
